This all seems like arguments against SC, but personally speaking I have never driven a manual car nor have I ever used paddle shifters. #1 and #2 above seem like SC is overkill if I just switch to paddle shifting and kick down a gear or two, and #3 seems likely to be true since, as mentioned in hyperlinked thread, the button is not included in electric/manual drivetrains. SRB does not provide overboost (post #31, #38, #40 in hyperlinked thread above).Sport+ engages "performance throttle" and "performance PDK" (post #38 in hyperlinked thread above).Sport Response Button ("SRB") immediately shifts to lowest gear available at current speed and engages Sport+ (post #6 in hyperlinked thread above).I read through this thread dated 12-06-20 on Rennlist ( Sport Response Button) and here are my observations: The more I read about it, the more I feel that I want it. I know it starts to add up… Believe me, I get it! The resale value and desirability are 2 very good reasons if you’re trying to rationalize spending the money on these two options □ The air suspension, along with the engine and transmission in normal mode make for an almost luxurious and comfortable driving experience. Ironically, it also adds to the flexibility for a true duel character by putting the car in normal mode. I think air suspension and sport chrono together, add a real sport element to the driving experience of this car. There’s more attached to Sport Chrono that many here can recite.įrom personal opinion, I was impressed with the Sport Plus suspension setting on the air ride suspension in my wife’s Macan S. More importantly, it places the transmission in a very aggressive state to keep the RPM’s as high as possible during the 20 seconds. It’s essentially an overboost feature for 20 seconds. It’s been dyno’d on other Porsche’s (not necessarily this one). Not just from sport response, but from heat generated boost.Ģ- Sport response is supposed to take you just a bit past sport plus. Unless you’re maybe in a track setting and the car is overheating, then the engine would protect itself. It can be used multiple times, back to back.
